June Blog Hop

This color scheme was found at the Colour Lover's site that Betsy Veldman linked to on her web site last week. I picked the most loved scheme and matched PTI colors...

I dont know what is more fun seeing all the colors on the site or the names. This one is called "Giant Goldfish Pallete". I want to make some more cards with the "Cheer Up Emo Kid Pallete".

I am soo sorry that I couldnt get the colors in a nice line but it is already after 5:30 here and no time to make it look pretty.

And here is a card I made for my daughter who didnt think she could possiby pass the test to get her driving permit today but did. Thanks for stopping by! I cant wait to see all the other blogs today!!!

One more masculine card challenge

I had a little time to play along with Betsy Veldman's challenge to create a masculine card using one of the color combos she posted here on her blog.
http://scrapbookgirl.typepad.com/paper_scissors_and_superh/2010/06/masculine-inspiration-day-2-color-a-challenge.html
I used the first combination and made this card for my husband who will be turning 55years old.

I used PTI Enjoy the Ride, Get to the Point and Vintage Label stamp sets. You cant see it very much but I also used Woodgrain and the Linen Impression Plates for texture. I used brads for the lights and mirrors and used foam squares to raise the car the 55 and a couple arrows. The colors seem to be off ( the blues are a little more green. I will have to really start working on my photo skills this summer!)

The Colour Lover's web site is sooo cool and very helpful! I found a palette that I cant wait to go make my next card with. (I just went to the most loved color section and picked the most popular one! Cant go wrong with that!haha) A big THANK YOU to Betsy for sharing this site with everybody because I know I will use it a LOT!

Before I go I have 2 more quick quick Thank you cards I made. Used Year of Flowers:Lilly of the Valley, Fillable Frames, Kraft and Rustic Cream card stock, Chocolate Ink ,and tea dye duo and some Linen texture plates (both sides of it).

Very simple.

Masculine Card Challenge

I really needed a challenge to get me in the mood to make some more cards. I am a bit of a procrastinator and like having a date when things HAVE to be done by to get me started!

The challenge is to be inspired by a piece of men's clothing and create a masculine card.
I picked the shirt my son was wearing yesterday. Here is a picture of him wearing it a couple months ago in the backyard with his sisters. Here it is up close.
I picked out the card stock to match. PTI Kraft, Smokey Shadow and a light grey color from my scrapbook stash. Then I looked for stamps that might work and ended up using some leaves from PTI First Fruits stamp set. I stamped them in Smokey Shadow and True Black on Kraft strip. I cut a "pocket" with a nestabilities die and tried to sew a border on it but just couldn't get it straight on the machine. Gave up and poked holes in it and sewed by hand. I added a brad for the "button". The "Love You" sentiment is from PTI's Damask Designs set. I just blocked off the (I) when stamping it. I thought the swirly letters looked a bit like the Lucky Brand label.

Well there it is, I am not sure if it is "masculine" enough, but my husband will say he loves it anyway! :D There is another challenge posted and I am hoping I will get to play with that later today!
