Hooked on Hexagons Challenge

I made this card for the Hooked on Hexagons Challenge over at the Moxie Fab Blog. Today is the deadline for the challenge and I was shocked to see that I HADN'T missed it! (Most cards I make are inspired by challenges but I rarely seem to make them before the deadlines! But that doesn't stop me! ...I LOVE hexagons! This card uses the Papertrey Ink Hexagon Die for the background and also the tag was stamped randomly with their Background Basics: Farm and Barn which has some cool barbed-wirey hexagons. The cupcake is also Papertrey. The SWEET letters were die cut with a Tim Holtz Alterations Inside Out die. (I only used the centers of the letters) I used some cuter than cute paper from CratePaper. So here it is...
Hope you like it! Have a great day!

Stamp-A-Faire Homemade Embellishments

For this challenge, I tried Danielle Flanders technique making custom washi tape from pattern paper. I first tried it by stamping on cardstock. I thought I would make my own paper! I used packing tape and guess what? It didn't work! haha I rubbed too much and the color came off so I tried again. This time I actually followed her directions and ta da it worked! I dont know if you can see, but I stamped roses in Sweet Blush ink all around the sentiment. I ran the top portion of the card through my Big Shot with a texture plate.

Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire Tie Dye Technique Challenge

Nichole Heady inspired me to try this tie dye technique with her video that made it look soo easy! And it was easy and I really like how artsy I feel now! haha I do think they turned out pretty cute! All I did was color some random circles with my Copic markers and then use a paintbrush to add alcohol to it! I love the results and will definately try this again! Thanks Nichole! :-)

Stamp A Faire Camp Card Challenge

I loved Betsy Veldman's card set so much! I am going to for sure try to make a set like that soon! Actually, I loved ALL of the card sets! The designers at Papertrey are so talented! I needed to make a set of birthday cards for kids so this is what I came up with...The sentiment is from Movers and Shakers:Sentiments, and the images are from Tremendous Treats:Birthday. I wanted the sentiments on paper that matched the Copic markers that I colored the images, so I just colored a square of white cardstock with marker before cutting it with the Mat Stack die.I heat embossed the sentiment also.
And here they are all together...

Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Fair Ribbon Technique Challenge

The videos for all the ribbon techniques were very informative and I really enjoyed watching them. http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/ I tried to recreate the flowers made from ribbon that Betsy Veldman showed in her video. The technique called for hopding the ribbon over a flame just lightly enough to slightly melt the edges. I was a little to eager and burnt 3 tries! I should have known as I tend to burn my marshmallows too. I will try this technique again until I master it but for now I went with a simple bow tied on my card!
Uggh sorry for the bad photo! I got a new computer and can't figure out how to edit it!
