Fridays Challenge

Designer Betsy Veldman is hosting a weeks worth of challenges on her blog. http://scrapbookgirl.typepad.com/paper_scissors_and_superh/2010/03/fridays-challenge.html
This one is to create a card in which you use a die cut image as a background. She used flowers and it looked so pretty!
I used dogs. I have had this die for awhile and haven't used it so I cut a bunch of plain ol' pooches as a background for my fabulous pink poodle. I didn't know where to put the sentiment so I put it in the inside. It just says Absolutely Fabulous. I used Stickles on her head, tail, and legs to make her sparkle.

Die Cut Challenge

Since I am a pretty new card maker, I really appreciate the challenges many talented designers post on their blogs. It helps to get some inspiration and have somewhere to begin my card.
I made this card in response to Betsy Veldman's challenge. http://scrapbookgirl.typepad.com/paper_scissors_and_superh/2010/03/a-day-to-take-note.html
She posted 9 cool way to jazz up die cuts on the PaperCrafts blog and the challenge was to use one of the techniques on your card.

I chose to stamp on my die cuts. I stamped polka dots on the stem and Background Basics: Botanicals on the layers of flowers. I used pop dots to raise the flowers. There are more challenges posted so I better get moving because the time limit is tomorrow!

Poppy Seed Challenge #2

Lisa Johnson posted another Poppy Seed Challenge on her blog http://poppypaperie.typepad.com/poppy_paperie/2010/03/poppy-seed-challenge-2.html so I thought I would play along this week. A few of my favorite things: buttons, polka dots and Light Moss.

I used my punches to cut out bunches of circles then stamped Dot Spots on the white card underneath. I used Spring Moss and Hawaiian Shores Ink and raised the Chocolate Brown card stock with pop dots. I also stamped the sentiment from Around and About sentiments on one circle and added 3 buttons.

I also made this card this week and realised it works for the challenge also!

The hero arts cat is stamped in spring moss polka dots. The cupcake is from Cupcake Collection. I added some stickles to the button cherry and icing on the cupcake. And while I am here, here are a couple more cards I made this week..

The critters are from Hero Arts, colored with Copics. I used Polka Dot Basics 2 and Fillable Frames. The balloon is from a birthday stamp set that I picked up at Michael's but can't remember who made it.

And lastly, this card was inspired by a card by Dawn McVey. I just added the critters and some buttons, stickles and the sentiment is from Wishing You.I really enjoy doing the challenges Lisa makes because sometimes I am overwhelmed with all the "stuff" I have to choose from and the challenges "pick" for me! I also love to stop by all the other blogs and see what they have created! Thanks for stopping by!
