Papertrey's Blog Hop Sept. 2011

This month's blog hop is all about being inspired about this photo...
I love the colors! For my first two cards, I used a square Spellbinders die to cut squares in lots of pretty colors and then put them together to make these...

I raised the vintage cream squares up with foam adhesive tape. The sentiment is from Through the Trees stamp set and the frame is from my new Christmas Labels set.

The first thing that I thought of when I saw the inspiration photo was Chevron stripes!

I used my distress inks to make the center panel and placed it on top of a Pure Poppy rectangle. I placed that on white cardstock and stamped the sentiment 4 times. (it is from the Birthday Basics set). I placed that panel atop a Hawaiian Shores card base and rounded the top corner. The star was die cut and then I used a hole punch to add the little circles. Foam tape raises it up from a another die cut star. It was finished with the addition of a few gemstones.

I can't wait to see how everybody else has been inspired and am already wondering what next month's blog hop will be?!
