Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day5 card 2

This card was inspired by the picture Dawn McVey chose off Pinterest.

I used some pattern paper from My Mind's Eye. For the floor and frame I used white cardstock and swiped it with Old Paper and Vintage Photo distress ink and then used a woodgrain stamp with Old Paper ink. For the floorboard moulding, I just used a strip of white cardstock and scored a line on my Martha Stewart score board. I used Papertrey's On My Couch and cut it out with the matching die. I finished it off by adding a flower and rounding the corners.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day 5 card 1

Papertrey is now on Pinterest! I am new to Pinterest but it looks like a pretty cool site. Each of their designers made a card inspired by something they saw on Pinterest. Our challenge today was to make a card also inspired by Pinterest. Well, I spent more than an hour just looking at some of the designer's blogs this morning and really didn't have any more time to explore the site so I decided to be inspired by the same photos as a couple of the designers. The first card I made was inspired by this picture that Melissa Phillips chose.

I used paper from the Lost and Found collection by My Mind's Eye.

I used Congrats All Ways for the sentiment and Papertrey dies.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day 4 card 4

For this card, I used Dawn McVey's favorite color combination.

The card base is Raspberry Fizz. I used white embossing powder on the Year of Flowers: Roses and the sentiment is from Birthday Basics.

It's been a busy day here but I did get to have fun making these cards. I can't wait to see whats new at Papertrey tomorrow.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day 4 card 3

For this card, I used Erin Lincoln's favorite colors and made this fun birthday card.
I used the Christmas Labels die to cut the Pure Poppy cardstock. I used a Think Big Favorite sentiment. For the background I used the circle impression plate and the cupcake is from Cupcake Collection.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day 4 card 2

For this card I used Heather Nichol's favorite color combination. I love these colors and needed a card for a friend that is having a baby boy very soon.

I used a kraft card base and added a Baby Button Bits bear on a Mat Stack die. I colored the bear with Copic markers and then used the 0 colorless blender marker to "scuff" him up a bit. On the larger mat stack, I ran it through my Big Shot with the argyle impression plate and then stamped the diamonds with the coordinating one from A Little Argyle stamp set. (I wanted a softer look, so I stamped it off on scratch paper and used the second impression on the card. I randomly stamped a few darker.) I used the double ended banner die for the sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages. To finish it off I rounded the corners and used a marker to add dash lines.

Papertrey's 5th Anniversary Day 4 card 1

Today, Papertrey has introduced some fun new things including pattern paper packs! Oh no! I....must...have...them....all! Well I am hoping to win...anything! lol (along with a million other stamp crazy people!) Each card posted is a chance to win so I got busy and made a few this afternoon.

I used Melissa Phillip's favorite color combo at the moment...

I added some vintage cream cardstock to stamp my new Lace Bouquet flower on. I used a die to cut the lacey edges and added a raspberry fizz bow.
Off to post next card...

Papertrey Anniversary Day 2 Card 3

This is the third card I made today using the downloaded images from Papertrey's oh so talented stamp designers! I will probably eventually use all of them but only had time to make 3 cards today. This image is so adorable. It was designed by Lisa Johnson. It is late here so the lighting is awful. I colored the image with Copic Markers and placed it under a Tag Sale 3 tag with a square punched out of it. I used papers from the Basic Grey Picadilly paper pack and added some buttons to the tag. I used a Kraft cardstock base. Time to go get some sleep..can't wait to see what Papertrey has in store tomorrow!

Papertrey Anniversary Day 2 Card 2

I made this card with an image designed by Lizzie Jones for Papertrey Ink. Lizzie is a new designer for Papertrey and I am excited to see what she creates in the future! I love the image and paired it Congrats All Ways. I used some paper from Pink Paislee Old School Collection along with Papertrey's Text Style Library Ledger pack. I printed the ribbon twice so I could pop up the center with foam tape. I also used Background Basics: Geometrics on the circle and center ribbon. I also colored it with Copic Markers.
I have one more card to share today and it is getting late.....

Papertrey Anniversary Day 2 contest....

Papertrey Ink is celebrating it's 5th anniversary this month and today I made a few cards for the contest they are hosting to celebrate their stamp designers. Each of the designers contributed a downloadable image. For this card I used the image by Melissa Bickford. I have several stamp set designed by Melissa and look forward to seeing what new ones she comes up with this year! I love this image and cut it out with a decorative edge scissors.. I also used Background Basics: Chevron Stripes and Postmarks stamp sets.

Inspired by Ashley Cannon Newell

I had so much fun today creating cards inspired by some of my favorite designers from...Papertrey Ink. (and I just learned how to add a link! :-))  Great day! Anyway... I love all the designers and am inspired by them all. I can't wait for the countdown each month to see what they create! Ashley Cannon Newell is their newest designer and definitely one of my favorites. I love how creative she is. I love that she creates videos that show step by step how her process works. It is weird but I just like her voice! She has a "you can do this too" kind of friendly teacher voice! Very inspiring! So anyway...I was inspired by some of the products she chose as her favorites...Woodgrain Impression Plate and the Banner Builder Dies. I love the woodgrain plate it adds texture without standing out too much.

This picture didn't turn out so well. It is dark here and I need to figure out how to make a light box. The color of the letters is more pink than red. I can't wait to see how Papertrey continues with the celebration this week! See ya later!

Inspired by Heather Nichols

Here is a card inspired by the talented Heather Nichols http://pinefeather.typepad.com/pine_is_here/2012/02/papertrey-my-favorite-things.html
from Papertrey Ink. I love her style! For Papertrey's 5th anniversary, each of their designers were ask to post 5 of their favorite products they love to use. When I think of Heather I automatically think of Kraft cardstock! haha It is my favorite too! It just GOES with everything! For this card I also used a couple of Heather's other favorites...Fresh Snow Ink, Spring Moss Stitched Ribbon and a Double Ended Banner die....
I also used Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley stamp set. I colored the double ended banner die with Copic markers to match the Ocean Tides, Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado ribbon. I colored in the flowers with Twinkling H2O's and a white colored pencil. I have one more card to post tonight so I will end this here. :-)

Happy Anniversary Papertrey!

Papertrey is my favorite stamp company. I have been using their stamps for my cards for the past few years. Each month they come out with new stamp designs. But that's not all, I love their dies, cardstock, ribbon, felt and buttons too! They are celebrating being in business for 5 years this February!
One of the things I love most about Papertrey is the people.   When I stumbled upon Nichole Heady's blog  http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/ a few years ago, I had no idea how much fun I was in for! Her ideas are genius, she has generous giveaways each month and she just seems to be so nice! (oh and you have to click on her scraproom ..."the studio" on her sidebar... to see how crazy organized she is!) She has so much talent and has gathered the most amazing design group ever. I check all the blogs ...a....lot! The women are all so inspiring and talented beyond belief!

I can't believe how fast time flies and it has been 5 years for them!  One of my new years resolutions this year is to use every single stamp set I own! Not an easy thing as I have 108 of them! (and that is not counting the little $5.00 sets!) Well, today I got started (yes, I know it is February! lol) and I still intend to keep that resolution! Who need Superbowl football when there are cards to create!
Nichole is starting the celebration by challenging everyone to create a card inspired by her fabulous design team and then she is going to give away all their favorite products to someone that is lucky beyond belief! The first card I created is inspired by Betsy Veldman. I can't say enough good things about Betsy. I check her blog daily just hoping she posted! Yes, I am a stalker..I admit it! Her projects are so creative. She uses things in ways that I never would have thought of and her use of color is perfection! The colors she chooses make the cards "happy"! That is what I tried to achieve on this card...

I used the On My Couch set and paper pieced the couch, paintings, pillows, mugs and part of the table and popped them up with foam tape. I used some Echo Park Springtime paper along with a card base of Aqua Mist cardstock. I added a little row of Papertrey buttons along the bottom to finish it off. I think it is very cheerful and colorful! Thank you Betsy for all your hard work and sharing your amazing talent!
