Happy World Card Making Day!

And to celebrate, I decided to...surprise!.... make some cards!! What else was I supposed to do??
There is a challenge on Betsy Veldman's blog to find a card in Card Creations Vol.8, and re-create it with a holiday theme.

I got out my issue and randomly opened it. Oops, it was opened to a page where there already were Holiday cards! After trying again, I opened it to page 8 and 9. I picked a Betsy card! An All Occasion card called Cherry Pocket Smile.
I used a Papertrey vintage cream cardstock with some CUTE paper from the Tinsel collection from Memorybox. I stamped an old Hero Arts ornament on some extra cream cardstock. (I had never used this stamp as it was still in the wrapper. The date on it was 2003!) Then I cut it out and covered it with some Glossy Accents. The Celebrate stamp is from Papertrey and I didn't have any chipboard so I cut a piece from a box in my pantry. I glued the paper to it, cut it with a corner chomper and sanded the edges. I sewed the 2 papers to make the pocket and added  my ornament when it was dry.

Then I flipped the issue open again! This time it landed on pages 128 and 129. I picked a cute Valentine's Day card from Jessica Witty. She used hearts as her focal points and I used trees! I added some sewing to my card and instead of buttons I used bitty star shaped brads. The paper I used was from K& Co and the stamps are from Hero Arts. (again, this one is dated 2002! ) The stamp had 3 trees so I stamped it twice, colored with Copics and cut them out. Then I only inked up the sentiment part of it and put that on the bottom of the card.

These were both so much fun to make! Thank you Betsy for another great challenge!
